The Lost Kingdom (1994)

The Lost Kingdom and Renee's role was the catalyst for Renee to be cast as Gabrielle. Her performance as Deianeira in that Hercules TV movie impressed producers Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi, who were casting XWP. That role showcased her ability to portray a strong, emotionally resonant character—qualities that would become central to Gabrielle’s arc in Xena.

In Hercules and the Amazon Women, Lucy played Lysia, a fierce Amazon enforcer. Her character was a staunch warrior aligned with Queen Hippolyta. Lysia was one of Lucy's earliest roles in the Hercules universe, and her commanding presence and physicality in that part helped establish her as a standout performer. Though she wasn’t cast as Xena until later (1995). Lucy initially appeared as a different character named Lyla in another Hercules episode. Her performance as Lysia impressed the producers - Rob & Sam to hire her as Xena.
